A focal point of every Scottish Gathering, the haunting sounds of the Highland Bagpipes and Drums are guaranteed to “stir the blood and quicken the pulse”!
The Gathering of the Scots Festival is proud to have 4 accomplished pipe bands performing at this year’s celebration.
The “host band” – our very own Southern Victoria Pipe Band of Perth-Andover will be welcoming the attendance of the Fredericton Highland Pipes and Drums, the Oromocto Legion Pipe Band as well as newcomers to the Gathering - the impressive Fredericton Society of Saint Andrew Pipe Band!

Southern Victoria Pipe Band, Perth-Andover, NB

Marking their 40th Anniversary in 2005, the Southern Victoria Pipe Band hails from Perth-Andover, NB. Performing highlights include their trip to Expo '67 and the North American Band Competitions in 2003. Primarily a working band rather than a competition band, they continue each year to delight audiences with concerts and parades throughout New Brunswick and Maine.
Fredericton Highland Pipes and Drums, Fredericton, NB

The Fredericton and District Highland Pipes and Drums were officially formed in 2000, and since then have actively participated in festivals, parades, charitable events and competitions throughout eastern Canada and the United States. Under the direction of Pipe Major Eric Horncastle and Drum Sgt Eric Doucette, the band's popularity and membership continues to grow, drawing 27 pipers and 10 drummers from numerous communities in Southern New Brunswick
FREDERICTION SOCIETY OF SAINT ANDREW PIPE BAND
With out a doubt, New Brunswick’s top competition pipe band, the Fredericton Society of Saint Andrew Band was formed in 1927 and has performed extensively throughout Canada, the U.S, Scotland, England and France. In 2006, they were awareded the North American Grade 2 Championships.
